Meet Justin Crawford
What is your role at Complete Legal?
Project Manager for the eDiscovery Team
What year did you begin at Complete Legal?
Where are you from?
Where did you go to school?
Undergrad – B.A. in Political Science from The University of Kansas (RCJH!!!)
Paralegal Certificate – Johnson County Community College
What is your experience in the legal industry?
I worked in various support positions for a little over two years at Polsinelli, prior to their merger, the day after graduating from KU. I worked mostly in the Construction and Employment Litigation groups. For the next 10 years, I worked as a Litigation Paralegal (and Senior Litigation Paralegal) for Hovey Williams in Overland Park, Kansas. During my time at Hovey, I was able to attend trials and other court appearances while coordinating the litigation group’s eDiscovery casework.
What do you enjoy about litigation support?
Since the day I started at Polsinelli, I have enjoyed working with a team of legal professionals to give the best support to the client throughout their cases. Litigation is simply not easy. Regardless of which side you are on, firm or eDiscovery vendor, making the client feel a sense of comfort in their case is so important to creating lasting working relationships.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I am mostly trying to keep up with my three boys (William, 8; Myles, 6 and Ernie, 3) and their ever-growing activities and personalities. My wife, Amy, and I get a kick out of them on a daily basis and are constantly challenged by them in a good way. I really enjoy coaching the soccer team for my oldest and hope to be able to do more for the other two in whatever sports or activities they choose.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Deep dish, Chicago-style pizza. Gino’s in the South Loop of Chicago is probably my favorite.
If you won the lottery what would be the first thing you’d buy?
Depending on the amount, an ownership stake in an English Premier League soccer team. I am a soccer junkie and love Arsenal, but being a part of ownership in a soccer team would be a dream fulfilled.
What is your dream car?
1957 Ford Fairlane, as driven by Pierce Brosnan in 007/James Bond “Die Another Day”
What is your favorite movie, TV show, album and/or artist?
My favorite movie is either “A Few Good Men” or “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”. I could probably quote them both entirely, and I have been called Clark Griswold a few times in my neighborhood. In music, my tastes are all over the board, but I always will go to Al Green or Sam Cooke if it’s just too hard to choose. Amy would say my favorite music is anything Christmas related immediately after Halloween.
What is your favorite quote?
Ferris Bueller: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
John F. Kennedy: “Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”
Chiefs or Royals?
Can I say Bears?! Royals are probably my favorite team here in KC.
Lake of the Ozarks or Tablerock Lake?
I really haven’t spent enough time at either to choose.
Joe’s Kansas City, Jack Stack, or Q39?
Joe’s all day, but Q39 is growing on me.
